This heading covers raw hides and skins that are fresh or preserved by salting, drying, liming, pickling or another method, including hides and skins that are dehaired or split. It does not cover tanned, parchment-treated or otherwise prepared hides and skins, or the specifically excluded animal types and hair-covered goat and kid skins.
